Terms & Conditions

EXHIBITION REQUIREMENTS
All pieces included in the exhibition must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition and may not be removed until the show closes on March 26, 2016.
 
SALES AND COMMISSIONS
All entries must either have a sale price or be marked not for sale (NFS). The Silpe Gallery will handle all sales transactions and take a 40% commission from the asking price of all artworks sold during the exhibition.
 
Purchasers of artwork may make arrangements with the Silpe Gallery for shipping of work at the purchaser’s cost, or will be asked to pick up sold works from the Silpe Gallery after the exhibition ends, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2016.
 
LIABILITY
The Silpe Gallery does not insure works of art on display. Although every professional precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of all work, the Silpe Gallery, the Hartford Art School, and the University of Hartford cannot be held liable for any loss or damage. Artists who desire to insure their work will need to make their own arrangements.
 
REPRODUCTION OF IMAGES
Permission is granted to the Hartford Art School Alumni Committee, the Silpe Gallery, and the Hartford Art School for reproduction of artwork for catalog and/or advertising purposes. Your entry into the exhibition constitutes agreement with this understanding.
 
ARTWORK SHIPPING, DELIVERY, AND RETURN
Accepted entries must be shipped via the commercial carrier of the artist's choice. All shipping costs are to be paid for by the artist.
 
Shipped works must be received by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016.
Hand deliveries will be accepted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on March 3, 2016.
Late deliveries will not be accepted.
 
Work should be securely and appropriately wrapped or packed for shipping. The Silpe Gallery, the Hartford Art School, and the University of Hartford are not responsible for works that arrive damaged. The Silpe Gallery will not repair or rehang work that has been damaged in shipping.  Any works that arrive damaged will not be included in the exhibition.  All shipped works will be returned in their original packaging and must include return postage or a return pre-paid label from the carrier of the artist's choice.
 
All artwork without return postage should be picked up between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
 
The Silpe Gallery, the Hartford Art School, and the University of Hartford are not responsible for artwork not collected after the exhibition closes, or for artwork shipped without proper return postage. Any artwork that remains uncollected will become property of the Hartford Art School and may be sold or disposed of.
 
CALENDAR
Deadline for Entries  - February 15, 2016, noon EST
Notifications Sent - February 17, 2016, end of day
Work must arrive at the gallery by - March 4, 2016, 4 p.m.
Dates of Exhibition - March 7- March 26, 2016
Reception date – Saturday, March 25, 2016, 4-6 p.m.
Exhibition closes – March 26, 2016
Work shipped back to artists or will be available for pick up on March 30, 2016
